Who is eligible for subsidies hearing aids?

You may be eligible if you fall into one of the following categories*:

Pensioner Concession Card holder

Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card holder

a Department of Veterans’ Affairs White Card holder issued for specific conditions that include hearing loss

receiving Sickness Allowance from Centrelink

a dependent of a person in one of the above categories

a member of the Australian Defence Force

referred by the Disability Employment Services (Disability Management Services) Program; or

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participant with hearing needs, referred by a planner from the National Disability Insurance Agency

How does it work?

The process is simple, you can apply online at the HSP website for the program, or Hearing Choices can connect you with clinic in your area who is contracted to the Hearing Services Program*.

Luckily,  Hearing Choices works with hundreds of clinics around Australia and are sure to have one in your area who meets this criteria!

What about private health insurance?

If you have private health insurance that includes hearing aids coverage you may also be eligible for further rebates for up to $1,800*! We can help you get the most out of your private health insurance and stack the rebate with any other subsidy available further lowering the cost of the devices.

Hearing aids often include a free or risk-free trial period, so you can test-drive a device before you commit to be sure it works.
