Resound Quattro CIC – A World’s First

GN ReSound are well known for world ‘first’ technology in their hearing aid models.

In 1992 they introduced the first hearing aid with digital sound processing.

In 2010 the world’s first 2.4GHz technology was featured in a ReSound hearing aid.

Just three years later in 2013, ReSound produced the first ‘made for iPhone’ hearing aid, and in 2017 they were the first to introduce remote fine-tuning capability.

ReSound have also now produced the world’s first 2.4GHz CIC (completely-in-the-canal) hearing aid.

CIC latest features

This CIC model with 2.4GHz connectivity has some cool features that make it stand out. Getting Bluetooth into a CIC is not easy, but clever engineering has made this possible.

The new chipset has increased efficiency, which, according to ReSound “could power you to the moon and back”, on less than 5% of its capacity. That’s an amazing amount of power, but the antenna in this hearing aid is also pretty special.

The ReSound CIC hearing aid has a pull out loop antenna, so it fits neatly into the faceplate. It also doubles as a removal cord. This antenna enables the CIC hearing aid to have the same wireless performance expectations of the other ReSound Bluetooth hearing aids.

Connectivity with the CIC hearing aid means it is direct streaming ready for iPhone and Android 10 products. For other Android smartphones and tablets, an intermediary device is required.

The CIC connects to the ReSound family of accessories, including its two smartphone apps: ReSound Smart 3D and ReSound Relief (a tinnitus app). ReSound have also recently partnered with Google to develop their direct streaming to Android 10 smartphones with Bluetooth 5.0 capability.

Apart from the convenience of not requiring an intermediary device when streaming from Android devices, this partnership also means no latency of signal for audio transmission, ease in pairing and connecting hearing aids to your chosen smart device and an improved battery life.

Part of the LiNX Quattro family

This custom made hearing aid is part of the LiNX Quattro family, so not only do you get connectivity in this tiny hearing aid, you also get the exceptional features available in this technology.

This includes a brilliant sound experience, enabled by a fuller sound spectrum and greater range of accessible sounds. It also provides more comfort in noisy situations. A research study showed that the noise reduction feature in LiNX Quattro hearing aids is preferred by 89% of listeners. The feedback cancellation feature is also regarded as the best in its class in the industry.

If you were thinking a Completely-in-the-Canal (CIC) hearing aid is for you but wanted the ease of a device with streaming capabilities, you can now have both in one. The ReSound LiNX Quattro CIC hearing aid offers discreet hearing with all the connectivity features of behind the ear models.
